Final Thoughts

I enjoyed making my own blog. This was not as hard as I thought it would be. I feel like I can get lost in the world of feeds. I'm thankful my husband was here to break everything down for me and to say it to me in a way I could understand it.

Description
"Government lawyers have wrapped your retirement money in red tape. This concise, readable guide will help you unravel it." -John Rothchild, former columnist, Time and Fortune magazines
Considering what's at stake, it's surprising how little we know about the key decisions we'll face concerning the retirement money we've accumulated.
Taking charge of retirement savings presents a whole new and complex set of decisions: Do you accept your employer's offer of a lifetime pension? Or take all your money in one lump sum? Should you leave 401(k) money where it is? Roll it over to an IRA? Are you eligible for special tax treatment that can put more money in your pocket and less in Uncle Sam's? And what about the new Roth IRA? How can you provide for your spouse? And what can you do to transfer wealth to your heirs?

Podcasts

I like NPR and I wanted to share it with others.

Youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kica8hmSdAM

I chose this video because of it's political content.

I found youtube fairly easy to navigate and therefore I liked it.

Youtube could be useful on the PBCLS website as a tool for teaching.

Web 2.0/Lulu

This site was very user friendly. I think this site might be good in helping a patron find a book that is not in our catalog system. Lulu was a one stop shop for all things books.

zohowriter

I liked this site. It was very user friendly and reminded me of Microsoft Word.

pbclswiki

That was easy.

Wiki

It's a great tool to learn and receive ideas from others. It makes a great announcement board. It would be good for Children librarians to share ideas. Reference librarians might find it helpful.

Web2.0

This is scary and reminds me of the "Borg" from Star Trek when they reference collective intelligence.

No surprises.

Tagging

I like how I can have my bookmarks wherever I go. It will really help in research.

Technology-Cell Phones

I have a cell phone. I've had it about 3 months. I didn't want it. I must admit it has come in handy a few times. It would probably come in handy more often if I didn't leave it at home most of the time

I did my first blog!

OK. I'm not sure if it's all correct but I created my first blog. Please hold all applause. Does anyone out there like "The View"? I love the hot topics segment. The rest I'l watch if I'm not busy.
